Christopher Michael Potestio

Christopher Michael Potestio, 45, passed away on October 26, 2025, in South Florida. Born on January 31, 1980 in Islip, New York, Chris lived a life defined by adventure and a fearless confidence to chart his own path. He had a genuine charm - there was something about his smile and presence that stayed with you.

Chris spent his teen years in Richmond, Virginia, where he attended Tucker High School. He later graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

As an adult, he built a life rich with experiences, spending many years in Northern Virginia, Dallas, Texas, New York City, and South Florida. He built a successful career in the food and beverage industry, where his appreciation for wine grew into true expertise. His work landed him industry awards and took him all over the world - from vineyards to restaurants - connecting with people and culture through food and wine. South Florida was truly home to him and his Vizsla, Ruby - they loved soaking up the sunshine, the ocean breeze, and endless days at the beach. Chris was an avid sports fan; he loved cheering on his favorite teams and watching sports with his closest friends, whether at home with Ruby or out on the town.

Chris is survived by his mother, Arleen Potestio (and her partner, Tom Kiehl), and his sister, Kerri Potestio, along with her husband, Rich Moham, and their children, Dylan and Carter, who brought him great joy as Uncle Chris. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Potestio, and his four grandparents.
