It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Edwin Graham “Ned” Brown announces his passing at the age of 42.
Ned was born on January 30, 1984 in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering concern for others. He possessed a gentle spirit and a sensitive heart, always willing to offer support, encouragement, or a helping hand to those in need. Even during his own struggles, Ned never lost sight of the needs of others and continued to care deeply for the people he loved, constantly spending time and treasure looking after others.
Ned and his family moved around the southeast during his childhood, including stops in Jacksonville (FL), Orlando (FL), Vero Beach (FL), Mt. Pleasant (SC), Palm Harbor (FL), and 8 years in Davidson (NC) before moving to Duluth (GA) in 2000. Ned graduated from Duluth High School in 2002 and spent time at the University of Georgia before transferring to and graduating from Northwoods University to pursue a career in the car business.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Ned was a respected veteran of the automotive industry. Ned quickly succeeded, first as a salesman then as a finance manager. He spent time at dealerships in Charlotte and across Florida. His dedication, professionalism, unrivaled intelligence, and ability to connect with people earned him the respect of colleagues and customers throughout his career. Ask anyone that worked with Ned over the years and you will hear stories about how he covered for them during a tough time or built a relationship with a customer that kept them coming back.
Outside of work, Ned was an avid golfer who cherished time spent on the course with family and friends. He was also a devoted animal lover whose affection for pets reflected the kindness he brought to every aspect of his life. A confirmed Catholic, Ned had a close relationship with God. He also loved Georgia football, cars, and traveling.
Above all, Ned will be remembered for his sweet nature, generous heart, and the genuine care he showed to those around him. His warmth, humor, and compassion touched many lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ned is survived by his loving mother, Sue Watson Brown; his father, Gerard William Brown; his brothers, Andrew Watson Brown (wife Susanna) and Alexander Gerard Brown (wife Lori); his nephews, Cole Anderson Brown, Grant Davis Brown, and Wyatt Curtis Brown; and his beloved niece, Quincy Adele Brown.
Though his time with us was far too short, Ned's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
The family will hold an intimate celebration of life to honor Ned. We encourage others touched by Ned in the various communities he lived in to do the same. In lieu of flowers, Ned’s family requests that you honor Ned’s memory by supporting mental health and recovery efforts in the best way you see fit.
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy."— Matthew 5:7
