Ellen Raisbeck left this earth on May 17, 2025. She arrived on July 14, 1951 to her parents Al and Bert Barton and big sister Brenda. Three more sisters joined the family: Nancy, Mary, and Debbie, whom she spoiled lavishly throughout her life. Ellen graduated from Melrose High School and then attended Chamberlain Jr College graduating with a degree in Fashion. She worked as an assistant buyer at Saks Fifth Avenue and had a career with Pan American Airlines as a bilingual flight attendant. Ellen traveled the world professionally and personally, returning from trips with gorgeous gifts for family and friends. But her greatest acquisition during her globe trotting was her husband John Raisbeck whom she met in a coffee shop in England. They fell madly in love and were married in Hertfordshire England 49 years ago. After a few years Ellen and John returned to New England where they have been an integral part of the lives of their eleven nieces and nephews. More recently they retired to Lantana, Florida where their hospitality and love to friends, family and even strangers has continued. Ellen’s life was a testament to love and the value of being present for people. She will be missed. Services are private. Donations can be made in her memory to the Salvation Army.
