Elmer Alfred Schneider

Oct 16, 1938 — Jun 14, 2026

Elmer A. Schneider, 87, of Tequesta Fl, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2026 with his loving family by his side. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on October 16, 1938 to Abraham Arnold Schneider and Mary Ellen Campion Schneider, Elmer was the youngest of 5 children.

Elmer met and married the absolute love of his life June H.(Rupp) Schneider, on October 16, 1958, and together they raised their family–a son and two daughters, in Parlin, NJ. In addition to being a wonderful father and husband Elmer was always available for his large extended family of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Elmer worked for over 20 years as a Printer for Avery Label in North Brunswick, NJ. When the Avery plant closed, he worked for Polaris Printing in the position of Leadman and Shop Steward. In retirement, Elmer enjoyed spending quality time with his family, including family get-togethers, playing cards and taking evening walks with his wife June.

In 2022, Elmer and June moved to Tequesta, Florida full time. Elmer served on the board at Tequesta Gardens Condominiums and took much pride in his friendly community, lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. He also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and putting on the putting green, participating in many of the competitions. Always the early riser, Elmer would spend most mornings enjoying his favorite hobby of fishing and watching the sunrise on Jupiter Beach and at the inlet by the Jupiter Lighthouse.

All who were fortunate to know Elmer and call him friend understood immediately that he was a true gentleman. There is nothing he would not do in order to help. Always quick with the one-liners, he would often use his sense of humor to navigate through a troubling moment. Time and time again, Elmer had shown what it means to be a role model, and to give more than you get, to be a source of strength and security to those around him. Elmer was the perfect example of a loving father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and good friend–A gentle soul who will truly be missed.

Elmer leaves behind his wife June Harriett (Rupp) Schneider; three children, Jeffrey Schneider and daughter-in-law Terri of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Maihack and son-in-law George of Jupiter, FL and Mary Beth Schneider Smith of Springfield, PA, five grandchildren, Brittany Greer and her husband Shane, Quinn Maihack, Sierra Maihack, Ryan Smith and Hannah Smith, one great grandchild, Veronica Greer and a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and many others who held him dear.

A private family remembrance will take place soon. In the spirit of Elmer's love for community, a celebration of life will be hosted at his Tequesta Gardens residence in the months ahead, when winter friends return to Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a local Big Brothers and Big Sisters club of America you may find them at Bigbrobigsis.com.
