Evelyn Birchfield, 78, of Plantation, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, due to natural causes after living with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose gentle spirit and caring heart touched everyone who knew her. She found great joy in gardening, caring for animals, and traveling. Whether tending to her plants or spending time with family, she brought warmth and kindness into every moment.
She is survived by her devoted husband Furman Birchfield of Plantation, Florida; her adult son Jason Birchfield of Austin, Texas, and adult daughter Jennifer Birchfield of Cooper City, Florida; and her beloved grandson Elon Birchfield-Andrade of Cooper City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her son Sean Birchfield, whom she held close in her heart always.
Throughout her life, Evelyn was known for her compassion, patience, and love of nature. Even during the challenges of her later years, she remained surrounded by the love of her family, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those who provided care and support during her illness.
Evelyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Parkinson’s or dementia-related organization in her memory.
