Henri Terrier, age 83, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, friends and the many memories of a life beautifully lived. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Marie-Paule Terrier; his adoring daughters, Nathalie and Valery; his son-in-law, Martin; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicolas, Adriana, and Max.
Born in Bourg-en-Bresse, France, Henri was the youngest of 5 siblings. At a young age, he discovered his talent and passion for cooking which led him to being a chef in a restaurant in Paris. With a deep sense of adventure, Henri moved to northern Spain to work as a chef in a resort town, Miami Playa. It was through an army friend — who happened to be Marie-Paule’s cousin — that he met the love of his life. After only three months together, they married and began a remarkable journey side by side. Together, Henri and Marie-Paule moved to Torremolinos in southern Spain, where they opened their beloved restaurant, Le Robinson. Later, continuing their adventurous spirit and pursuit of opportunity, they relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and opened another successful restaurant, La Ferme, where they became known for wonderful food, warm hospitality, and lasting friendships.
In retirement, Henri and Marie-Paule enjoyed traveling the world together, and in recent years cruises brought them great joy.
Henri will always be remembered for his big heart, delicious recipes, adventurous spirit, and love of family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, old cars, boating, animals, and sharing meals and laughter with those he loved most. His warmth, generosity, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Our family will hold a private farewell and celebration of life.
