John Edward Westmoreland, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on June 23rd, 2025 at the age of 75. He was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather whose commitment to his family and friends was unparalleled.
Born in Michigan to Donald and Sally Westmoreland, John was a member of his high school football, basketball, and track teams. He enjoyed spending summers in Tennessee on his grandparents' farm with his sister Jennifer, who sadly passed before him.
John left Michigan for Indiana where he started his professional life working his way to a management position with the Keystone-Rees manufacturing company. But he was drawn to the idea of owning his own business and followed that dream to Florida where he started a metal fabrication business with is father. As owner/operators, John and his father ran this successful business for over 40 years.
But John's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his three loving children Daniel, Heather (Chris), and Sean; grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Jonathan and Joey; and great-granddaughter Flora. John also leaves behind his adoring sister Tracy (Rick) and his nieces Amber and Sara. John's significant other Bobbie, with whom he spent the last 23 years, is also experiencing a tremendous loss.
John was a humble Christian man who faithfully served as a greeter every Sunday at Calvary Chapel West Boca. He also had a lifelong passion for motorcycles which he continued to enjoy as a proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) Trinity Travelers for 20 years.
John's legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will live on through the countless lives he touched along the way. His devotion to the people he cared about will be remembered and celebrated.
John's family is hosting a Celebration of Life to honor his memory on Saturday, July 19th at 3pm. 9435 NW 1st St, Coral Springs, FL 33071
