Michael Craig Pett

Michael Craig Pett Sr., age 62, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2026. He was born on April 20, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan to Patricia (Carnahan) Tompkins and the late Douglas E. Pett.

Mike grew up and attended school in the Fort Lauderdale area. 

Mike’s passion was towing and the transportation industry. He worked for many tow companies over the years, working as a dispatcher prior to his death. He operated his own business “Express Taxi and Sedan” for over a decade and was also an independent contractor. Mike loved baseball and a good meal. He was always asking “What’s for dinner?” or looking for a “schnack.”

Mike is survived by his children, Michael Craig Pett Jr., and Ashley Pett; his mother, Patricia Tompkins; his sister, Suzanne Britz; his brother, Douglas Pett (Kimberly); three grandchildren; stepmother, Dee Pett; stepsister Wendy Drinkwater (Michael); and four nephews, Doug, Tommy, Dennis, and Dillon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shandy, his father Douglas E Pett, and his brother Robert Pett.

No formal service will be held, but the family encourages you to have a good meal in his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
