Stephen “Steve” Louis Kovacs, age 70, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away at home on August 7, 2025.
Steve was born March 8, 1955 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Stephen Kovacs Sr. and Vilma (née Shara) Kovacs. He met the love of his life, his wife Judy, when he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland as a young adult with his parents. Steve moved with his wife to Hollywood, Florida in the 80s, where he started his own business and developed many lasting friendships.
Steve was a man of faith and had a long list of those he prayed for every day. He loved golf, bowling, fishing, fireworks, movies, travel (especially cruises), the beach, the pool, and good food, especially cobb salads from the Brown Derby and blue crab with lots of Old Bay. Steve loved sharing in his favorite activities with his children, from taking them on vacation to Wildwood Boardwalk in New Jersey, to going to the carnival together every year, to listening to classic rock in the car and ensuring they knew the best bands. He was an animal lover and found great joy in spending time with his pets. Steve was best known for his “Uncle Steve weekends” by his nieces and nephews, where he was notorious for having action packed weekends with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Judy; his children Sarah (James) Seelig, Stephen, and Elizabeth Kovacs; along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends that became family. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Steve Sr. and Vilma Kovacs. He will be dearly missed by the many who love him.
