Susan McGee

June 4, 1943 — April 23, 2026

Susan Elizabeth (Weisman) McGee, 82, passed away April 23, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Susan lived a full and vibrant life over the years in New York City, Fire Island, Amagansett, Greenwich, and Deerfield Beach, Florida.

She attended Little Red School House, City and Country, and Walden Schools in NYC, graduating from Boston University with a bachelor of fine arts degree.

She began her career in advertising at BBDO in NYC and went on to become a respected producer of award-winning commercials working with several notable directors in New York City. Her attention to detail, scheduling and production made her a welcomed and valuable asset in the business.

Above all, Susan's greatest passion was her family. She stepped back from her career to devote herself to raising her children, embracing her role as a mother with unconditional love and commitment. She personified the Power of Love.

She enjoyed the arts, museums, and theater delighting in all that NYC had to offer. She found joy in life's simple pleasures as well, especially relaxing on the beach with a good book whether a love story or a spy thriller, taking an occasional dip in the ocean. She also enjoyed wandering the beach searching for sea glass, especially the rare blue pieces which over the years filled many jars which adored her home.

She remained strong through her illness and passed peacefully, surrounded by her family after sharing joyous moments while celebrating her son, Max's, 46 birthday at her bedside.

Susan is survived by her husband of 48 years, Stanley (Sandy) McGee, whom she met 51 years ago on Fire Island, her son Maxwell and wife Julia, her daughter Molly, her stepdaughter, Heather Behle and husband Aaron, her brother, Peter Weisman, and wife Kathie and a host of loving grandchildren, cousins nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion, resilience, and the love she gave to those in her life.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
