William Cabot Knowlton passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Born on June 20, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, Cabot was the son of Chadborne R. Knowlton and Wilma Irelan Knowlton. Throughout his life, he carried with him the values of family, dedication, and kindness that were instilled in him from an early age.
Cabot lived in Ohio, Connecticut, and New Jersey before moving to Pompano Beach, Florida, in 1960. He graduated from Pompano Beach Senior High School in 1963 and went on to attend Florida State University and The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance. A gifted athlete, he excelled in the game of football, where his extraordinary talent and competitive spirit set him apart.
Above all, Cabot will be remembered for his deep love of family and his warm, generous nature. His optimistic outlook, friendly smile, and affable personality touched the lives of everyone he met. While his athletic accomplishments were remarkable, it was his character — kind, gracious, and steadfast — that left the most lasting impression.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Heidi Knowlton, and his brother, Charles Douglas Knowlton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chadborne R. Knowlton II, and his sister, Karin Lee Fletcher.
Cabot’s memory will be cherished always by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.
